Follow the Starfish!
Take a leisurely journey and let our dancing starfish show you the way along Vancouver Island's
scenic Oceanside Route, Highway 19A.
What better way to see Vancouver Island than touring along this scenic drive for a morning,
afternoon ... or longer. Here, you'll discover three unique destinations each set amidst
Vancouver Island's stunning ocean-to-mountain scenery.
From the south, meander through the picturesque Oceanside communities of Parksville and
Qualicum Beach, where views stretch across sandy beaches, the Strait of Georgia and beyond.
Mid-route, the Comox Valley spreads below the glistening Comox Glacier, alongside the sea
and into the farmlands of Merville and Black Creek. Discover secluded Miracle and Saratoga
Beaches, then drive by the water again at Oyster Bay. At the north end of the
Oceanside Route, ocean and island scenery welcomes you to Campbell River.

on the Island Highway 19 near Parksville or at any marked exit along the way.
Campbell River
Campbell River's location at the north end of the Oceanside
Route makes it a natural destination. Campbell River is also the gateway
to Strathcona Park, the Discovery Islands, and northern
Vancouver Island, all renowned wilderness destinations.
Comox Valley
Alpine to ocean ... so much, so close. Skiing, hiking, golfing and
kayaking - where else can you do all this in one day? The region
also boasts a broad range of arts and cultural attractions, including
the renowned Filberg Festival and Vancouver Island Music
Festival. As you tour the Oceanside Route, stop and stay awhile in
the Comox Valley... it's where visitor's feel at home.
Oceanside
Featuring Parksville and Qualicum Beach, these communities offer a mild year-round climate, miles of sandy beaches, golf courses,
parks, trails and more are just a few of the reasons to linger in the
Oceanside area. This picturesque region offers a range of cultural
and recreational activities from galleries and artist
studio tours to kayaking and cave touring.
