Campbell River Tourism Webcam - South

Welcome to Campbell River Tourism's south end webcam. This webcam is located in the south end of Campbell River overlooking the Discovery Passage. This camera has several preset views that it will scan through including the Campbell River landmarks Cape Mudge lighthouse and Mittlenatch Island. This webcam also includes our world famous "Salmon Capital of the World" fishing grounds such as: "The Red Can", "The Green Can", "The Light", "The Hump", "Sentry Shoals", "Shelter Point" and more.

Our south end webcam was recently moved to a higher location! The higher location has given us an even better view of the south end of the channel and our favourite fishing grounds with 20 new preset views! Follow our Facebook page for some archived images.

A new image is captured every 20 seconds. Refresh page for new image.

Thank you to Pat and Laurie Cadden for hosting this webcam.

This webcam is located in one location and pans to up to 20 different programmed locations in the south end of Campbell River overlooking the Discovery Passage. The images are captured from a live streaming video feed that runs 24/7, year round. A limited number of images are archived and used for promotional purposes for Campbell River Tourism. The image is copyrighted and all rights are reserved. One of our membership benefits is to have a link to embed the webcam image into your website. Become a Member!.

The camera is housed in a dome enclosure designed for our West Coast marine climate. Most ice or snow will melt when it comes into contact with the heated dome and will appear to be rain. The dome is not equipped with a wiper blade. On occasion, the images will be obscured due to weather conditions, nighttime hours, or motion blur due to the camera panning to a new location. Rarely, the camera will fixate on one location. The camera is monitored daily and will be reset as soon as possible.

If you wish your marine event to be archived, please submit your event to our events page.
